New stupid movie clip from Kenya
I'm posting a stupid clip from a trip I took to Kenya in 2000. Just like the amazon trek clip (see my movie page), it is all improvisation. We had know idea what we would say before the camera started rolling. But, as I said before, it's pretty stupid. I'm hoping to do some fun "Action News" graphics and such to it later, but here is just the raw clip. Featured in this video are Andrew Briggs, Drew Lamb, and myself.

That's a wrap!

After a long 2 days, the shooting is over for the short film I was involved with. We worked 14 -16 hour days and were able to get all of our shots in. I worked with an excellent cast and crew; I learned so much in a short time. In above picture from left to right are: Chris/Sound Guy, Walt/Director, Foster/Gaffer, Richard/Assistant Cameraman, and Paul/Director of Photography. There were many more cast and crew members, but this is one of the few shots I took that came out ok. I worked with Foster in helping to light the shots. Foster knows his stuff and he taught me so much. He was very patient with me and I enjoyed working with him. Thanks Foster! Now the film is in post-production for a week or two I think and then the film will be judged along with all of the other shorts submitted for this competition.

View from space
This is the view of my new home from space. My apartment is the red dot. This is from a new feature on maps.google.com that has a satellite view. Pretty cool eh?

Lights, Camera, ...
Through a friend of a friend, I have gotten involved in a short film competition. It's called the 168 Hour Film Project and it is based out of LA. I will be a grip on the film crew for one of the teams and we are doing a 2 day shoot up at Big Bear Mountain next week. I am so excited. I knew that I would like to get involved in film stuff eventually out here, but I never thought it'd happen so soon!

In-N-Out
I still can't believe this is my life. What have I done to deserve such a blessing? Nothing, it's 110% grace.
Let me share my first experience with In-N-Out Burger. On my second day here, I was driving around, checking out the area, and saw the local In-N-Out Burger place. I'd heard it's the best, so I made that my lunch of choice. I went to the drive-thru and ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The lady then asked me if I was going to eat that in my car or if I was going to eat at home. What?!? I wasn't prepared for that question, and I hadn't thought through when exactly I was going to eat my lunch. I suppose I would've done a little bit of both. A little bit on the way home, and finish up at home. I replied, a little confused, "huh? i dunno." Then she said, well would you like it in a box or in a bag? Again, had never been asked that at a drive-thru. "Umm..." She said that the box was for if you were going to eat in in your car and the bag was for eating at home. I decided on the bag. I waited until I got home to eat my In-N-Out burger and it was delicious. The fries were great too. I think I'll try the box next time. :)

Living in Paradise
I got here late Thursday night after a grueling 17 hour drive though the desert and then spent like 4 hours moving all my stuff in up a flight of stairs one box at a time from the U-Haul. I finished and collapsed at 1:30 AM. I got up the next day at 6:30 AM, because my body still thinks it's on East Cost time and it wouldn't let me 'sleep in'. Stupid body.
I've spent the past couple of days unpacking, shopping for supplies for new apartment, working, and checking out the area. I love my new home. I walk around and feel like I'm on vacation, but wait, I live here. :) I am so 'stoked'. I can officially say 'stoked' now because I'm an OC resident. Driving down the streets of Huntington Beach, or HB, I can look to my right and see snow covered mountains and I can look to my left and see the ocean and Catalina Island.
I thank God for giving me a small taste of Heaven here on Earth.
