Chair of the Darned
This is very stupid, but funny. I wish we had a class like this in my high school. This is from Blake High School in Silver Spring, MD.

My Date with Drew
I got a chance to catch a new movie called, "My Date with Drew" last night at the ArcLight in Hollywood. It was a director's Q&A screening which meant that we got to ask the director and producers questions after the film. First of all, I have never had a better movie-going experience than at the ArcLight Cinemas. They pride themselves on being the filmlovers' cinema and they got it right. If you ever get a chance to see a movie at the ArcLight, do it. You will see what a movie-going experience should be like. Ok, so back to the movie.I must admit, I had low expectations of the movie. I just thought it'd be fun to go and listen to the director's/producer's perspective on making the film. This film is a documentary about a guy's 30 day quest to have a date with Drew Barrymore. He and his buddies filmed this quest over 30 days with a camera he bought at Circuit City. He had 30 days to do this so that he could return the camera back to Circuit City and get his money back. Entertainment Weekly gave the movie an "F" score. They were wrong. I think they were just being snobbish. I think some people in the industry are complaining because this is just some guy with a cheap camcorder and he doesn't 'deserve' to have a movie released. I'd rather go see an honest portrayal of the human experience we live in that was made for only $1,100 and may not have the best production values, than to go see a movie that costs $125 million to make about an angry robot stealth jet fighter.
This film was so funny and heartwarming. You can't look at it as a regular Hollywood movie. First of all, it's a documentary, so it's a little disjointed, but you follow Average American Joe around trying to pursue his lifelong dream. You may disagree with the dream. The dream of a date with Drew vs. a dream for world peace. But, I think watching the experience of this guy pursuing his dream and not giving up makes the film. Plus, the guy has a very funny self-depreciating sense of humor. You really see that he is just an average guy trying to get a date with someone that is 'unreachable'. Go see this movie! And here's the deal, you HAVE to see it this weekend. The numbers they get back from this weekend and last weekend will determine their fate in the business. I think these guys deserve a shot because they are talented dreamers and I want to see the underdog win. After you see the movie, you will find yourself rooting for the underdogs too. Oh, and I don't want to give anything away, but I think I can say that Drew does make an appearance in the film. Whether it's the appearance they were expecting remains to be seen by you.
So, PLEASE, go see this movie THIS weekend. Give the average guy a chance! He deserves it! Check out the movie's website here.

Dude, Where's My Car?
Something must be seriously wrong with me. Well, I kinda already know that. Flipping through the TV channels, I caught the movie, "Dude, Where's My Car" on FX today. I've seen the movie several times before and laughed each time, but that was a while ago, and I thought that I probably wouldn't find it very funny now since I'm a little older and more 'sophisticated' now. Ha. Was I wrong. I was literally in tears in the first 5 minutes. I don't know what it is about this very stupid comedy that I find so enjoyable. One of the first scenes where they go out and discover his car isn't there and repeatedly say "Dude, where's my car?", "Dude, where's your car?", "Dude, seriously, where's my car?" "Where's your car dude?" and on and on... Pure gold Jerry! Gold! I just can't stop laughing and I don't know why. I'm retarded.

Complete Rolling Stones now on iTunes!
Every single song recorded by The Rolling Stones is now available on iTunes! Finally I can get my favorite song from the movie "Rushmore" that isn't on the Rushmore soundtrack. You should get it too! Download "I am waiting" from the album "Aftermath" by the Rolling Stones. Come on, it's only 99 cents. Plus, if you're a fan of Rushmore, it'll remind you of some great scenes!
While you're at it, why don't you download the other Stones songs from Wes Anderson's other films? These have previously been unavailable on the movie soundtracks b/c of legal copyright royalty mumbo jumbo. So that adds to a grand total of $2.97. You're telling me you can't afford $2.97? Come on. In the voice of Ben Stiller from Starsky & Hutch remake, "Do it!"
Bottle Rocket
2000 Man
Rushmore
I Am Waiting
The Royal Tenenbaums
She Smiled Sweetly
The Life Aquatic
(There were no Stones songs in this film)

Sk8er Boi

Well, I got my first skateboard today. It's a longboard skateboard, meant for cruising the streets of Huntington Beach. I walk downtown pretty much everyday, so now I'll be boarding downtown. My first attempt riding the board was a bit scary. I didn't fall, but I felt like I might. After a few blocks though, it seemed to get a bit easier. I have to work on the street/sidewalk transitions and the turning. I'm definitely not going to do tricks with this thing. Just nice relaxing rides. I also feel like such a poser trying to ride the board, but hopefully soon I will earn the coveted title of "sk8er boi." :)
