Do You Wear Contact Lens?
Then you'd better be careful which brand of cleaner you buy. There's a Bauch & Lomb brand out there that is causing people to get eye infections and having to get their cornea replaced!

Joke of the day
My friend Gavin recently told me a joke that I thought was funny.
Q. What's the difference between a Baptist and a terrorist?
Think you know the answer? Click here to find out.
Ha. Ha. Come on, it's funny! :)

Apple Boot Camp
Apple Computers released a new software today called "Boot Camp." This allows Windows XP to easily run on their new Intel based Macs. Very exciting stuff. If of course, this sort of thing excites you. :)

Brick
I saw this fascinating movie last night called, "Brick." I know it's already one of my 2006 favorites. It opened in LA this weekend and opens in theatres nationwide next weekend. It's an independent movie with no real 'stars' attached. The kid from the TV show, "3rd Rock from the Sun," Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is the main character, but you'd hardly recognize him from his TV character.
The movie takes place in modern times where most of the characters go to the same high school. The twist though is that it is a film noir movie. Think old B&W movies where women are called 'Dames'. But as a poster promotion for the movie said, don't think that this is just a bunch of 90210 kids doing cheap imitations of Humphrey Bogart.
This is one of those movies where it's difficult to describe what it's about in a nice pretty package. The basic premise is that it is a detective mystery where this kid has to figure out what happened to his ex-girlfriend. Lukas Haas is in the movie and has a great and sometimes hysterical role.
Check out the movie preview trailer.
Go see this movie.

So this guy walks into a bar...
Today was my first day of improv comedy training. I am taking a very basic level class at a local comedy club called 'Acme Comedy Theatre' . We won't really be doing any performing in this class, but just learning how to let go of your fear of performing and learning to think on your feet. Is that an expression? "Think on your feet"? It sounds weird. I know "land on your feet", but "think on your feet"? Hmm...
Our homework this week is to keep a daily diary of our fears and how our fears prevent us from doing what we want to do. There are 4 other more advanced classes that progress after this class. I'm not sure how far I'll go with these classes, but I've always been very passionate about humor and comedy and wanted to give this a try to see what happens. I don't think my ultimate goal would be to be a stand-up comedian, but maybe get involved in writing comedy. Who knows.
I have this one memory of a very long time ago when I was like in 3rd grade. I was out on the playground near the jungle gym during recess trying to make the popular pretty girls laugh. I remember I was explaining that I was a clown and I was trying to do stunts to get them to laugh. It didn't work. In fact, it failed miserably. I think the girls were Carrie Mitchell and Julie McKnight. So, perhaps that's my ultimate goal in comedy; to get the pretty girls to laugh. That'd be cool.
